to do the "8 facts character meme" about CalaenSo here he is, Prince Calaen of Doumerlas
1. Calaen is the second son of King Ordell of Doumerlas. His elder brother, Alaestor, died under mysterious circumstances at the Capital of the High King when Calaen was six.
2. He's very adept at tactics, both in battle and while doing his job for the High King of rooting out rebels.
3. He is an expert swordsman and horseman.
4. Like most of the other princes at the Capital, he has very little regard for those he considers below his station. They're just there to be used.
5. Before coming to the Capital, Calaen had an interest in old histories, especially those that from before the Gods' War.
6. He has no qualms about killing people, whether as punishment or because they're a threat.
7. He is the reincarnation of King Raghnall, but doesn't find that out until he meets Wizard-Healer Tiernan. He doesn't believe it for a long time.
8. Despite his devious nature, he is a man of his word. If he says he'll spare your life if you do something, he will. If he says he'll kill you, he will.
